An Email from Greg to his nephew, Matthew ...
I talked my parents into buying me a motorcycle. It just so happened that it was a beautiful chopped Triumph 650 with extended forks, high bars, lots of chrome, etc. It was a biker's bike. I bought it on the 31st of March, 1967, and proceeded to have a major crash the next day. You guessed it. April Fool's Day. The last thing I remembered was a blinding light coming toward me and then waking up in the hospital. Anyway, to make a long story short. I woke up. I had a "great" time. I'm not talking sarcastically here. I do mean "great." time in the hospital. It was my first real taste of friendship, and what having good friends can mean. I was in the hospital for not quite a week and sent home. So years passed, and I was watching a show about near-death experiences. They started to talk about the bright light, etc. and it started me thinking. I bought a book at the time. I believe it was the only book written on the subject at that time ("Life After Life?"). At the time of the accident there was nothing being reported about Near Death Experiences.
